Department of Economics

The Department of Economics was started with the establishment of the college in 1983. The fringe of specialization was appended to it in 1984. The department has relentlessly strived for excellence in terms of facilities, number of the students opting for the course, university results, participation of faculties & students in various socio-economic & curricular activities. The department has been successfully engaged in providing excellent human resources to various sectors. There are two faculties out of which one awarded Ph.D. degree along with other desired qualification in the department who are actively engaged in imparting the knowledge in the subject of Economics to students.

Achievements of the Department:

  • Asst. Professor in Department of Economics Dr. D.P. Bhadane received a Government of India’s Patent for his research paper "The Impact of Monetary policy on foreign trade in India".
  • Student of S.Y.B.A. (Economics) Kumari Rani Shankar Gangurde got 2nd ranking in “Aavishkar” Competitions 2023 at University level and actively participated at State level Competition. She had done her research work under the guidance of Dr. Dinkar Bhadane.

Objectives of the Department:

  • To complete the university prescribed syllabi taking into account students’ ability.
  • To Create interest in the area of Research of student.
  • To import the knowledge about the role and functions of government in Indian Economy.
  • To help the student analyzing the present phase of Indian Economy.
  • To enable the students to understand the process of nitration of the Indian Economy with various economies of the world.
  • To acquaint students with the emerging issues in business at the International level in the light of policies of Liberalization and Globalization.
